Hi there!

The other day I started this blog, and in the same evening I posted about how the past few months has been on instagram with a carousel of photos I've taken both when times have been okay, but also from moments that have been very difficult. Let me tell you, it was VERY scary!

I've also posted a few tiktoks about it recently, but tiktok feels so much more distant than instagram. Not saying that it hasn't been a bit scary posting on there too, but it has in a way been a coping mechanism to use a bit of humor in regards to the situation.

Yesterday I posted on instagram letting people know about this blog, where I am writing quite openly about my journey with my mental health.

There's something very vulnerable about sharing about your mental health online, both regarding to the fact that a lot of mental health issues makes you feel vulnerable as it is, but also because of the stigma surrounding it. Society has in general gotten better at accepting mental health as a real struggle, but there's still ways to go.

Mental health issues are generally not accepted as a sickness the same way physical issues are. That's likely why I felt nervous posting about my struggle with my mental health but had no issues talking about when I was in hospital for appendicitis. Anyways, I'm proud of myself for doing this, even though it's scary. I'm hoping this will give people a little dose of perspective on the stigma that surrounds mental health and I hope to start some important discussions regarding it!

As always, take care and stay safe <3
